STUTTGART, Germany — A U.S. Army specialist from the Chicago area was among three Americans killed in a weekend attack by al-Qaida-aligned militants in Kenya, according to his family.
According to John Vandiver in the Army magazine STARS AND STRIPES, Spc. Henry Mayfield Jr., 23, from the Chicago suburb of Hazel Crest, was killed in the Sunday morning attack, his family told Chicago’s NBC affiliate. “He loved his family and spending quality time with his siblings,” Mayfield’s mother, Carmoneta, told NBC 5 Sunday evening.

YUVAL NOAH HARARI & NATALIE PORTMANN
YUVAL NOAH HARARI
Want to know the history of everything? Or, at least everything we know so far?
Dr. Yuval Noah Harari, a lecturer at the Hebrew University at Jerusalem, wrote a book, primarily, for his students that turned into an international bestseller and, somehow, turned an expert on medieval warfare into the world's expert on the future. Scour the internet, you'll be hard pressed to find any top university, convocation of government officials, or popular TV hosts worldwide who have not yet made the effort to either listen to or debate this author, whose books have, thus far, sold over 20 million copies.
In now three books, Sapiens, Homo Deus, and 21 Lessons for the 21st Century, Harari's audacity may not reside in asking new questions, but, in asking age old questions out loud. Ironically, what reads as pessimism about our future...everyone's future...is hope-filled and his revelations about recent discoveries in biology and tech slaughtering our ideas of free-will have opened doors wider than ever to the idea that humankind can, simultaneously, solve problems local and global.

TOKYO 2020 MASCOTS
In Japan, the chequered pattern became formally known as “ichimatsu moyo” in the Edo period (1603-1867), and this chequered design in the traditional Japanese colour of indigo blue expresses a refined elegance and sophistication that exemplifies Japan.
So, you're Simone Biles or Michael Phelps how do you tell all your Olympic medals apart? DESIGN.
ROBOTS. POWER ASSIST SUITS
It's the 21st century and the venue is JAPAN...was there ever any doubt that Robots would make their Olympics debut and tech would be a winner?
