On that day, no arrests were made. County police only collect testimony from the McMichaels, who claim to have chased Arbery after seeing him running. They claim that there have been several burglaries in the neighborhood. Travis explained that he wanted to arrest the young man but that he had violently attacked him, and that he had to shoot to defend himself. Police tell Arbery's family that he was killed by a neighbor after breaking into a house. There have been no burglaries in the neighborhood since the start of the year.

ARMY SPECIALIST FROM CHICAGO AMONG THREE KILLED IN KENYA

January 6, 2020

STUTTGART, Germany — A U.S. Army specialist from the Chicago area was among three Americans killed in a weekend attack by al-Qaida-aligned militants in Kenya, according to his family.

According to John Vandiver in the Army magazine STARS AND STRIPES, Spc. Henry Mayfield Jr., 23, from the Chicago suburb of Hazel Crest, was killed in the Sunday morning attack, his family told Chicago’s NBC affiliate. “He loved his family and spending quality time with his siblings,” Mayfield’s mother, Carmoneta, told NBC 5 Sunday evening.
